In 2018, I left a stable corporate job with a decent salary and a clear career path. Most people around me thought it was a bad idea. I thought the risk of staying was worse. I launched my first consulting project that year with one client, one laptop, and a business model I was still figuring out in real time.
By 2019, I'd landed my first six-figure client. It felt like proof that the leap had been worth it. But I also realized fast: trading hours for money at a higher rate is still trading hours for money. The model wasn't scalable, and I was burning out servicing clients instead of building something with real leverage.
In 2021, I made the pivot that changed everything. I stopped selling my time and started building a community-led education model. I ran the first cohort with 200+ founders and operators who were all in the same place I'd been — smart, hard-working, but stuck. The momentum was immediate. The playbook we built together worked better than any 1:1 engagement I'd ever done.
In 2023, I launched the flagship course — the same frameworks from those cohorts, packaged for self-paced learning. We crossed 1,000 students. I still do this work because most of what gets sold online is noise. I've been in the trenches long enough to know what actually moves the needle — and I'm not interested in selling shortcuts I don't believe in.
